As part of the Hand in Hand Disabled Rights Information Project, we regularly translate and comment on social rights and laws concerning disabled individuals on our platform’s Twitter account. By doing so, we aim to inform disabled individuals about their rights in advance for potential situations and help them access their rights more easily.
Many people face difficulties in accessing their legal rights due to a lack of proficiency in German or insufficient knowledge of the laws. It is crucial for immigrants to be generally aware of the laws that concern them. Within the scope of this project, we assist disabled individuals with the current procedures and problems they face, such as what documents they need to prepare, which institutions to apply to, and how to write petitions. We answer their questions and, if needed, translate their petitions into German.
